The mini auction of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place on February 18 in Chennai. The IPL management confirmed this through social media. This time 8 franchises have released a total of 57 players. Rajasthan Royals have released captain Steve Smith and Kings XI Punjab. It will be interesting to see how many of these big names will be sold at auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore released the most 10 players. While Punjab has 9, Rajasthan 8, Mumbai 7, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi 6-6 and Hyderabad 5 players out of the team.
On January 20, all 8 teams released a list of retainers and release players. 139 players have been returned with a total value of Rs 483.39 crore. At the same time, the franchise released 57 players worth Rs 196.6 crore. That means all the eight franchises will now have Rs 196.6 crore to spend in the IPL auction 2021.
